What is the risk of transmission of HIV from a person of unknown status via unprotected vaginal sex? I think I have been exposed, can I start PEP right away? I am devasted.

Yes ma'am .. you should start pep for safer side within 72 hours ..why you want to take any risk regarding your health .. although chances r not that much unless untill supposed your partner has high viral load of hiv .. stilll you may connect if any doubt
