Hiv and fingering
My friend had a very small paper cut on his finger not even bleeding and after 8-9 hours where almost the cut was dried he did fingering to a girl around 1 minute and washed his hands immediately and he is not sure about her hiv status. He is now worried. The cut was not bleeding but while having food he could sense it as it was burning

Based on the history, this is extremely low to negligible risk for HIV transmission. A small paper cut that was 8–9 hours old, essentially dry and not actively bleeding, is very different from a fresh, deep, open wound. Fingering itself carries extremely low to no HIV risk; the theoretical concern would require infected vaginal fluid or blood to come into contact with genuinely open/damaged tissue. The burning sensation while eating does not mean that the cut was still an HIV-susceptible open wound.
Next Steps
If the exposure happened within the last 72 hours, he can speak with us for an individual risk assessment, particularly if there was visible blood from the partner and the cut was actually open. CDC guidance considers PEP primarily when there is a substantial-risk exposure involving non-intact skin or mucous membranes and potentially infectious body fluids. In the circumstances described—old, dried, non-bleeding cut and brief fingering—the situation would generally not be considered a typical HIV exposure requiring PEP. Health Tips
There is no need to repeatedly inspect the finger or monitor for HIV symptoms; symptoms cannot determine whether someone has HIV. If he wants reassurance, an HIV test can be discussed with a doctor, but this exposure itself is very unlikely to result in HIV. For future sexual contact, avoiding sexual activity when there are fresh/open cuts on the fingers or using a suitable barrier such as a glove can further reduce risk. Thank you
