Hip X-ray results ongoing pain
I have had results of an X-ray to my hip after experiencing long term pain. My Doctor has not explained them to me. It says; borderline bilateral coxa valga, slight uncovering of both femoral heads, no significant degenerate change. There is a right-sided os acetabulum.

The coxavalga is defined as a condition in which the femoral neck shaft angle is more than normal (135-139°). This might be due to many reasons, the most common being slipped capital femoral epiphysis and perthes disease. The main problems are pain due to impingement and decreased mobility. The uncovering of femoral heads is due to coxavalga. It needs a clinical examination by an orthopaedic surgeon and an animated CT hip ( if required) to assess the extent of the problem. There are many hip preserving surgeries, however your age 45 is a limiting factor. At this age it's better to use analgesics when required rather than going for a surgery. If degeneration develops, then THR can be planned. Discuss with your orthopaedic surgeon for the best way of treatment.
