There's no established evidence that maternal stress, anxiety or arguments during pregnancy directly cause hearing loss in the baby. Fetal hearing problems are usually linked to genetics, certain infections during pregnancy, or specific medicines, not everyday stress.
Next Steps
Ongoing high stress isn't good for your own wellbeing or a smooth pregnancy, so it's worth easing with support from family, friends or a counsellor. Mention this to your obstetrician at your next visit.
Health Tips
Newborn hearing screening is routinely done after birth and will check your baby directly, so this doesn't need to weigh on you right now.
