High hemoglobin
Hello, I am a 38 year old male who is overweight and on testosterone. My doctor referred me to a hemotoligist who told me my hemoglobin is high. He asked me if I was a smoker. I said no because I am not. He asked me if I drank and I said no but the truth is I am also an alcoholic. I drink 10 beers a day sometimes. I know I need to stop and was embarrassed to admit this to him. He told me to give blood, look at stopping or cutting back testosterone and lower my consumption of red meat. I am wondering if the alcohol is affecting my levels?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. First of all, why are you on testosterone? What the purpose? Who prescribed you and for what? Yes alcohol and too much red meat is affecting you. I would need a few more details before proceeding further with your case. Revert back and I shall help you out. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
