High fever
My daughter age is 8 years, she is having fever -101 and having some cough , I gave her paracetamol 6 mg  fever  came down but only for 2-3 hours . I also gave the cefixime 5 ml of (from old prescription of doctor) as well as ascoril plus. Can anyone suggest me further? Weight 22 kg, Age 8 and from last 2 days I started the above medicines.

Hi. This looks like a viral fever. It will take minimum 3-5 days at least to settle. Please give her dolo 650 half tablet every 6 hours. Stop the cefixime syrup. It’s not needed. You can give cetzine syrup 5ml at night Stop the ascoril syrup Viral fever will take at least 3 days to come down. So please be patient and give the treatment until then

Antibiotic dosage seems inappropriate. Also it looks like antibiotics may not be needed, my suggestion will be to have a detailed discussion over a consultation. Other associated findings like oral acceptance, alertness, bowel bladder habits are needed before an opinion can be given.
