High bilrubin levels
High level of bilrubin since past six months. It keeps elivating and coming down .. I recently got done LFT and found that this time also it was only bilrubin was raised. Bilirubin total is two point one two,Indirect - zero pt two eight Direct - one point eight four, Sgot/sgpt all are okay. danger of hepatitis b or c?

Hello,you have elevated direct bilirubin levels, if it's hepatitis ,SGOT ,SGPT should have been elevated ,normal direct bilirubin level should be 0.2 mg per DL. Intrahepatic Causes,Hepatocellular disease,Viral HepatitisAlcoholic Liver Disease,Biliary Tract Obstruction,Drug induced cholestasis can elevate direct bilirubin. Even hepatitis A can cause jaundice (not always c and b).More over you see very high level liver enzymes.
