Yes herpes zoaster is caused when the immune system become weak.
Herpes zoaster and chicken pox is caused by same virus .
If the chicken pox occur in past the virus of chicken pox remain inside the body without cause any problem but if the immune system become weak the then the virus become active and cause herpes zoaster eruption.
