Herpes virus 1
Hello ! 3 weeks back i have fever and throat infection after 3 days some ulceration started in my oral cavity including gums i visited to a dentist the doctor dignosed me and said it is herpes 1 he prescribed me some steroids and ointments its been 2 weeks now the ulcers are not properley cured please suggest

Based on the symptoms, this looks like oral Herpes Virus-1. These ulcers usually take 10–14 days to heal. Steroids alone can delay healing; antivirals work best if started early.
This is NOT oral cancer. Cancer ulcers are usually painless and non-healing, unlike herpes which is painful and multiple.
If ulcers last more than 3 weeks or pain is severe, a re-evaluation is advised.

If it’s the first time you have got herpes ,it takes a little longer to heal .
Also a dose of antiviral drug like Acyclovir helps but since the active phase is over ,no point having it now .if it persists,please visit Doctor/Dentist again .

Sometimes it takes longer time to heal . You can wait and watch . Advance procedures such as low level laser therapy is quite effective in herpes infections .
