Hemangioma
My son of three years has been diagnosed with hemangioma on his tongue. The doctors have suggested Propranolol. The Propranolol has many side effects. Are there any alternative treatments available for this which is safe and with least side effects?

Hemangioma could slowly regress or become smaller. However if it's not becoming small, or if it's increasing in size , then the option with the least side effects is Propranolol. It is a commonly used medicine for BP , and a lot of children with Cardiac problems. The most common side effects are lowering of heart rate and BP . Hence a Cardiac evaluation is preferable before starting it and also on a regular basis. It's also to be avoided in those with Asthma or reactive airway disease.
