Hello,
There are crypts on tonsils, but due to repeated infections ,these pockets can get distorted and themselves act as source of infection.Can consider tonsillectomy surgery for relief from frequent infections and pain.

Hole in the tonsils is not really abnormal and if you do not have any symptoms such as throat pain and difficulty in swallowing then no treatment is required. It is not related to jaw pain and difficulty in opening mouth
