Heavy Menstrual Cramps
I suffer from heavy period cramps for first 2 days of cycle. If I want to travel in these days is there any tablet for reducing period cramps? Is it safe to take these pills?What are side effects of these pills? Please suggest name of such tablets.

Hi. You can take Tab Meftal spas on sos basis, it doesn’t have any side effects. You can also carry a hot water bag to give you soothing effect from the pain. All the best!

Yes you can take tablet during period time . Tablet buscogesic one tablet two or three times a day. You first start with simple hot water bag to your tummy and paracetamol two tablets three to four times a day which should work and paracetamol does not have any side effects . If not helpful take buscogesic which in some people can give rise sleepiness and will not allow you to drive . Best take paracetamol during day time and one buscogesic at night when you can sleep properly.

If you are suffering from severe dysmenorrhoea you should get it investigated thoroughly and treated accordingly as it can be an indication of endometriosis. For a period related pain various medications which are given are generally safe and don’t have many side-effects.
