Heart Patient suffering weight loss
Question - Can rock salt intake cause weight loss dramatically? My father (54 years old) is a heart patient. He takes Rock Salt instead of Table salt for past 2 years. We have noticed that he has lost weight and become very lean. Can the kind of salt intake cause such weight loss?

No not like that. Any salt causes water retention, if total amount of salt intake is reduced fluid generally do not accumulate in body, along with if he is on any diuretics tablet can also reduce weight. Rock salt is not processed salt may be total amount of sodium chloride in it is less so actually less concentrated salt so less water retention, giving a theory to explain if so
