HEALTH QUERIES OF 12 DAYS BABY
Dear doctor, My baby boy is 12 days old. Birth weight is 3 kg at 38 weeks of pregnancy. Baby sucking milk is very well. Baby takes very fast and deep breathe . Is it any problem or it is ok? Kindly help me.

Hi, this is normal breathing pattern in newborns, called periodic breathing. You will notice few quick breaths in close succession followed by slow breaths. Just keep note of their effort of breathing which is easily understood by noticing the movements of their chest muscles. If they are working hard, that suggests breathing difficulty and need you to visit your nearest Paediatric contact point.

This is called periodic breathing... Most often Its normal for neonates...u should check whether its associated with other symptoms... Like sweating during feeding/ bluish discoloration of lips/nose...
