My father had done Hb1ac test and the report came 5.9% hb1ac & estimated average glucose is 123 mg/dL. And the report points out pre diabetic range. Is it a pure diabetes or it can be cured?

Hb1Ac 5.9 suggest it is Prediabetic stage but for confirmation of diabetes u need to get fasting and 2 hr post meal sugar also..!! Progression of Prediabetes to Frank diabetes that is Hb1Ac above 6.5 occur in upto 20 to 30 percent of individuals over next few years...definitely u can reverse it that is Hb1Ac below 5.7, with lifestyle modifications and diet management.....
