Hb 8.5 at 28 weeks pregnancy
I am 28 weeks pregnant, first pregnancy. HB 8.5 ,cbc showing microcytic picture, LFT is WNL, total protien and albumin all ok.thyroid profile is also ok.general health ,bp, weight gain, fetus growth are all ok. Uncimplicated preg till now. Till now was not able to take iron tab regularly daily due to gastric issues. I do not take any antacid regularly.. as of now only digene now and then. Suffered a lot of nausea and vomiting till 16 weeks.. post that a lot of acidity and gastric issues till about 20 weeks. Right now only now and den issue of acidity. Diet as of now is good, since 2 months. Problem in milk digestion was der since 1st trimester, but now i can tolerate 1 glass at night. Kindly advise whether i should try iron tab bd for 2 weeks and repeat cbc and iron profile or should straightaway get iron sucrose inj. Dietery advise. Lately i also developed pica ( for fullers earth) I dont eat it , just taste and spit it out, that too only sometimes.not very compulsive.

Hello dear You have reach to third trimester N hb is significantly low I wud suggest u to take iron sucrose injections in divided dosage Low hb can give small baby , preterm labour or even postpartum haemorrhage Iron oral supplements , dry fruits , resins, spinach, beet root , meat are rich sources of iron
