HAVING PAIN ON MY LEFT SIDE MUSCLE RIB

Hello sir Iam having pain at my below chest left side muscle part of the ribs for so many days . I contacted a doctor he said that it would be a muscle problem and suggested some medicine . It has not given relief still the pain is being on the same place. What could be the the problem pls suggest me Thanking you
