Greetings Hard stools in newborns can be consistent with incorrect formula preparation ratios, a normal developmental phase of an immature digestive tract, or a potential milk protein sensitivity.General comforting strategies include performing gentle, clockwise tummy massages, moving the infant's legs in a bicycling motion, or offering a soothing warm bath. Maintaining frequent breastfeeds can also provide essential hydration that naturally helps to soften stools and support easier bowel transit.

Stool consistency and colour keeps changing in babies for first few months since you have mentioned you are giving formula also check the proportion you are mixing and follow as per instructions on the pack like 1 scoop in 30 mL of water. Breast feed the baby initially as constant latching increases milk supply. If the abdomen is soft you do not worry but if hard stools are persistent share your concerns with your paediatrician. Try massage around umbilicus, cycling movement of legs and burp the baby well for about 20 min in upright position after feeds.

Harder stools like this are common in one-month-olds on a mix of breast milk and formula, since formula tends to firm things up more than breast milk alone. Gentle tummy massage or bicycling her legs between feeds can help ease things along.
Health Tips
Keep following what your doctor has already prescribed, and see them again soon if she goes several days without stool, strains in obvious pain, or you notice blood or vomiting.
