Hamstring related issue
I play tons of cricket and one day while running i experienced a sudden sharp pain in my left hamstring (behind the thigh) and i took a month rest and got back to playing cricket 2 days back and today i again got the same pain in the same area. I'm finding difficulty in keeping my leg straight. There hasn't been much swelling or anything though.

See it's hamstring strain as per the history you have. How severe it is for that , there are two tests available to identify - Muscle Ultrasound and MRI. Some times swelling is deep so it is not visible to that extent. Proper rehabilitation of hamstring strain takes 6-12 weeks of injury depending on grade of injury.
Next Steps
keep icing the area 10 min twice daily.
