Hairfall and no regrowth
My husband suffered from excessive hairfall two years ago on shifting to a new location where the water had high iron content (underground boring water). He stopped usage of tap water for hair wash on realising that it was causing hair loss and had started using RO filtered water for washing his hair since then. We have now shifted to a new location where the water is not hard water. However, there has not been much hair regrowth and the volume of his hair has declined drastically over the last two years. Can the condition be treated by medication?

He is suffering from hormonal changes causing Androgenetic alopecia causing hair fall. It's completely stoppable even regrowth of hair is possible with certain medications without any side effects. Treatment depends on the grade of hair loss. So, it's a must for diagnosing which grade, you are in for an effective treatment. Please  send more photos of your head, by direct online consultation for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
