I've been having consistent hairfall for 7-9 months now. Hormonal checks are within range as are thyroid, zinc and iron. I have a history of pcod but regular cycles. Last examination revealed high esr at 40. What should be the next steps?

You are suffering from hormonal changes causing Androgenetic alopecia causing hair fall. It's completely stoppable even regrowth of hair is possible with certain medications without any side effects. Treatment depends on the grade of hair loss. So, it's a must for diagnosing which grade, you are in for an effective treatment. Please send photos of your head, by direct online consultation for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
There are different causes for hairfall, and the specific cause can be diagnosed only after examination, and detailed history.
In your case, I would say the cause is a mix of hormonal (from the pcod) and nutritional/lifestyle induced.
But a thorough history and examination will be needed to confirm.
A multimodal approach would be needed to treat.
Kindly get in touch with a dermatologist.
No need to worry.specific treatment is available.it depends on severity of the disease . Complete medical history is required..

A hair test and trichoscopy has to be done which will help evaluate the exact reason for the hairfall. Please take online consultation or in person appointment for detailed history and examination so that appropriate management can be advised.
