Hair loss due to maternal family

I am 25 year old male and am suffering from hair fall from past two years but not in regular intervals.I want to know can it be heridical from my maternal home side as they hv baldness but my father side doesn't hv hair fall problem?Do i hv to use folliserum for lifetime as my doctor tplf me?
