Haemoglobin levels during 8th month
Hi all, I am 32 weeks pregnant and 33 week of pregnancy is going on. I have done haemogram test today and found that my haemoglobin level is 8.5. So my dr suggested me to take 3 iron injections now itself thru saline.but my question is it is anyways going to drop in last month so we can start the same at the starting of 9th month so it will be stable and meanwhile I am having all iron reach food like beet green leafy vegetables and dates too. Can you please suggest when should I start taking iron injections if my haemoglobin does not increase till the start of 9th month. Also suggest me what should be the haemoglobin level while completing 9th month and 9 days of pregnancy duration.

It is advisable to take injections now itself so that by 36 wks you hb should be at least more than 9 gm%. After injections you can continue iron rich diet and iron supplements. You will  have to  repeat your hb value again after injections at term.
