Hello, my kid is 19 months old, weight 8 kg, we consulted doc bcoz we found her inactive. We did some blood tests and found her HB is 10, can u please suggest me what all should I add in her diet to increase her HB and she becomes more active.

Hi,first of all upto 10 hb is acceptable though bit lower than normal level expected. But low activity is not related to this.baby needs propor examination and assessment before proceeding further with any treatment. Well only 1o hemoglobin shall not be the cause.you shall see for other symptoms if any. For an Indian child 1o HB is not unusual but still you shall focus more on calorie rich diet which also has iron in it.rich sources are jaggery, pista, carrot , spinach , all green leafy vegetables, tomato, beet root ,etc ...try to make soups , kheer with jaggery , modak with jaggery, tomato puree , etc . kids must have carbs in ample amount which would help boosting growth n activity. Try frequent feeds rather then 3 major meals like adults . hope these much steps taken well then surely your child would do better. Ofcourse consulting an expert pediatrician would help if regularly shown. Regards
