For sarcopenia (muscle loss), your father usually needs:
High protein diet regularly
Light strength/resistance exercise under guidance
Good diabetes control
Vitamin D + B12 check
Proper sleep and sunlight
Adequate calories (not just protein alone)
Regular medical review for thyroid, kidney, liver or absorption issues
Helpful foods:
Eggs, milk, curd, paneer
Dal, sprouts, fish/chicken if non-veg
Nuts, peanut butter
Protein supplements only if doctor allows
Very important:
Muscle gain in elderly is slow
Protein without exercise often gives limited improvement
Physiotherapy/resistance bands can help more than only medicines
He should also be evaluated if severe weight loss continues despite eating well.
Next Steps
Next steps for the patient:
Consult physician/geriatric specialist

Regular doctor follow-up
Hi, Sarcopenia is not just weight loss — it is ongoing muscle breakdown. If there has been no improvement for 7 years despite protein and Vitamin D, then the body is clearly not recovering properly anymore.
This usually needs a proper muscle-recovery nutrition plan, digestion support, deficiency correction, and structured guidance..not random supplements alone.
Next Steps
Book a consultation now so we can work on the root cause and help slow down further muscle loss before it worsens further.
Eating more and more protein doesn't mean to treat sarcopenia your father needs. A proper meal plan to follow with discipline and yes it's an aging issue also
Hi ,
If it comes with age factor we can only help in management with balanced meals ..Continue the supplements and make sure a well balanced meal is eaten on daily basis also with sugar and age muscle loss will be there so include some physical activity after consulting doctor hope this helps
