Reduce green patches below the tongue, a symptom of oral thrush, with a home diet rich in probiotics from yogurt and kefir, vitamin C from citrus fruits and berries, and zinc from nuts and seeds, while avoiding sugary and processed foods that can exacerbate the condition.

I understand how concerning it can be to notice changes in your skin, especially with health anxiety. Gray patches on the skin can have various causes, many of which are harmless. Here are a few possibilities: Leukoplakia: This condition causes white or gray patches, often in the mouth, and is usually linked to irritation from smoking1. Pigmentation Disorders: Conditions like vitiligo can cause patches of skin to lose pigment2. Infections or Allergies: Sometimes, infections or allergic reactions can cause discoloration without other symptoms2. Since you mentioned smoking, it’s worth noting that smoking can sometimes contribute to skin changes. However, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional to get an accurate diagnosis and peace of mind.

Gray patches on the tongue can result from various causes, including smoking, fungal infections, or other benign conditions. Since there is no associated pain or texture change, it is likely to be harmless. However, it’s essential to evaluate this properly to rule out conditions like oral lichen planus, leukoplakia, or other oral mucosal changes, especially since smoking is a risk factor. Next steps: 1. Quit smoking to avoid worsening of oral conditions and reduce health risks. 2. Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth and tongue regularly. 3. Consider an oral examination by a dentist or dermatologist for a closer evaluation. Helpful tips: Stress and health anxiety can exacerbate concerns; relaxation techniques or consulting a mental health professional may help. In the meantime, avoid self-diagnosis as it might increase your anxiety. For a detailed evaluation and treatment plan, feel free to consult me.
