Mouthwash is prescribed as per your child age & need so pls specify the age of the child . For adults there are different types of mouthwashes prescribed as per their oral health needs .
Since most mouthwash have fluoride in them, if the child will swallow it, it will lead to excess of fluorine at an age when the teeth are still growing which can further cause fluorosis (white- brown spots) on the enamel of the tooth. Hence mouthwash is not recommended until the first permanent tooth erupts.
