Saliva plays an essential part to keep your mouth hydrated and moist, apart from that saliva has essential elements that help in preventing gum problem and keeping cavities at bay. After radiation therapy the salivary glands that produce saliva gets affected and to a large extent saliva production is considerably reduced leading to dryness of the mouth, redness and bad breath.
Next Steps
In order to overcome your problem, you need to keep the mouth well hydrated by constantly sipping water, also ice chips will reduce the burning sensation. Artificial saliva like sure saliva can help. Supplementing your oral hygiene with fluoridated tooth paste will prevent cavities or teeth decay.
Health Tips
Alternatively Ayurvedic medicines can also be considered.
