Gestational diabetes protein intake
Hi,  i am diagnosed wiyh gestational diabetes at 6th month of pregnancy , even after following the proper diet plan, my 2 hours post lunch and dinner sugar levels are between 135-140, is it normal?? Or should i be concerned ? I have lowered my diet a lot, so can I atleast take Proteinex Lite as protein supplement with gestational diabetes?

You should be under care of a good physician/ Diabetologist . Target fasting less than 95 and 2 hours post meal below 135

The supplement does contain carbohydrates or sugar , although in lesser amount than other supplements and it can still elevate your sugars . Your sugars after meals are high compared to the goal for pregnancy, which should be less than 120. Uncontrolled diabetes can increase of preterm delivery, large sized baby, increased need for cesarean and low blood glucose in the baby after birth. Therefore you may require medications to control diabetes
