GCT is not required for follow ups once you have already been diagnosed as gestational diabetic. A routine fasting and 2 hour post meal sugar value will be enough as long as you are advised only dietary changes. Once you are given medicines, you will need to keep a home record of sugar values by a glucometer. A little amount of sugar occasionally is fine.
