It is reassuring that you have been wart-free for approximately 10 months following treatment with electrocautery and that there has been no recurrence during this period. If your treating dermatologist has also confirmed on examination that there are no active genital warts, that is an encouraging sign. Regarding the attached images, it is not possible to definitively diagnose skin lesions or confirm scars from photographs alone. However, after repeated electrocautery, it is common to develop post-treatment scars or areas of altered pigmentation, which may appear lighter, darker, or slightly irregular compared to the surrounding skin. If these areas have remained unchanged for many months and there are no new raised, rough, cauliflower-like growths, bleeding, pain, or rapid changes, they are more likely to represent healed post-procedure changes rather than active warts. A clinical examination remains the best way to distinguish scars from recurrent lesions.
Next Steps
For a detailed consultation, review of the treated area, and personalized guidance regarding HPV, marriage, and pregnancy planning, you may connect with us at 9 3 1 5 6 6 1 5 6 5. We will be happy to provide individualized advice and address any concerns you or your future spouse may have.
Health Tips
Maintain good genital hygiene, avoid smoking or tobacco use, and support your immune health with a balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and stress management. Avoid repeatedly inspecting or manipulating the treated area, as scars from electrocautery can remain visible for many months and may gradually soften or fade over time. Overall, being wart-free for 10 months, having no clinical recurrence, and completing HPV vaccination are all reassuring factors, and the outlook for a healthy married and sexual life is generally very good. Thank you
