Friend with Schizophrenia
Hello. I have a friend who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. On top of that, he has depression and suicidal tendencies. He says that he hears voices all the time, most of them demeaning. He treats these voices as separate entities altogether. I would like to know how these voices are actually formulate in his head and if they are actually what he really thinks/feels or is it what he says it is - a separate entity. I would like to know how to handle him when he has episodes.

You will get better guidance from the Psychiatrist who has been treating your friend. I hope your friend is under medication and he is not missing any dosage. Take appointment with that doctor to know how to handle your friend in case of any such recurrences.
