Freaking out over bone density test!
Help...I just had a bone density test and it's showing I'm osteoporotic (score of -3 according to the radiology tech....my ob-gyn has not reviewed it yet). I'm only 53 and otherwise in perfect health!. I have absolutely no fracture history. I was underweight for a brief time as a teenager, I tend to eat vegan and I'm sure I haven't had enough calcium in my diet over the years....but I exercise plenty and don't smoke. And NO FRACTURE HISTORY...what can I do? How worried should I be?

-3 is definitely a score to worry ! Consult an orthopaedic surgeon or an endocrinologist and start treatment. Only calcium supplements won’t be of help
