Fracture in left collarbone and scapula
I had met with an accident on 14th may 2019 my left collarbone has been broken into two pieces and left scapula is fractured. After 12 days doc did another x Ray and advised for surgery. I consulted to another very experienced doctor and he told that it will heal by itself in 6 weeks. M undergoing medical treatment with calcium rich diet. I am attaching x Ray of 14th and 26 may. Pls advice wether it will require surgery or will heal itself. Also if it will heal itself then will there be any problem to me throughout my life. Another x Ray will be done on 24th June. Thanks. Pic with red arrows is of 14th And another one of 26th may.

When there are two fractures in place both scapula and clavicle it is similar to floating shoulder. But in your case though the clavicle fracture will heal by itself without operation it is better to get operated bcoz of floating shoulder like picture and will have better stability soon if operated. Plz follow your first doctor advice and get it operated and don't leave it too late. Doctor shopping is not good sometimes bcoz too many cooks spoil the dish and I might be one as well. But in my opinion do not delay and get it operated soon .

Not an issue, if you don't have any fracture-related complications.

Usually clavicle fracture are operated only in special circumstances. If you are not having any neurovascular compromise , skin abnormality/wound, the fracture can be managed without operation using a clavicle brace and ARM sling. Usually adequate union is achieved Rarely even if the clavicle does not unite at the end of 3 months patients do not experience any functional limitation
