Intrarticular injections of Steroid, Hyaluronic acid and PRP are various injections options, depending on the grade of osteoarthritis.
Supplementing the injections are knee quadriceps exercises and ice packs along with medications.
Next Steps
Share knee x-rays.
Health Tips
Surgical options are TKA and High tibial osteotomy (if there is isolated medical compartment osteoarthritis).
Pain in osteoarthritis is due to loss of cartilage from joint surface. Till now there is no such drug which can regenerate cartilage in severe osteoarthritis. Intra-articular injection are available but with questionable results. With physiotherapy and analgesic u can only delay the need of replacement but may eventually require it later on.
