For.my father.age 53 years
My father got sevior heart attack before tow years..last year he got angeoplasty...and after that his behaviour got totally changed...I mean. He always keep worrieng about his health...he always panic... He always keep shouting that he is going to die... he don't have sugar problem but still he don't eat sweet ...even he is fringhtened about drinking water too.frankly I am feeling that he is getting g.mentaly sick. He has a lot of anxiety regarding his health.. take him to any clinical psychologist coz he need relaxation and counselling too.

Most probably he is having illness anxiety issues. But depression is very common in cardiac illness cases. I feel a low dose SSRI or TCA may help him along with regular yoga. But things can be managed with out medicine if it's not that severe. Let's have a chat in details to rule old geriatric depression where anxiety and irritability is more than low mood. Let me know about his thyroid and diet pattern and exercise schedule.
