For Eye Strain and Sleep Disruption
Hello Doctor, As part of my job, I am required to view digital screens for nearly 7 hours every day. I wear prescription glasses. However, I have been experiencing significant eye strain which is disrupting my sleep on a daily basis. This problem persists despite taking regular breaks and maintaining an appropriate distance from the screen. I also ensure that the brightness and contrast levels on my devices are adjusted to reduce strain, yet the issue continues to bother me.  Am looking for expert advice on how to effectively manage this eye strain and subsequently improve my sleep quality. If there are any specific exercises, eyewear modifications, or lifestyle changes that could alleviate my discomfort, I would appreciate your recommendations. Additionally, I would like to know if there are any preventive measures I can take to avoid the long-term effects of extended screen time. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Minimize screen time. While using digital devices, every 20 minutes, take a 20 second break and look at a distant object 20 feet away. Maintain right posture while using computer. Keep yourself hydrated. Blink more often. Sit away from ac and fan. consult sos

1)Reduce screen time if that's possible. 2)follow 20-20-20 rule ;look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20min although I think you might be doing this already 3)Take soft drops eye drops 4tid. 4)if u have done all above and it's even affecting your sleep quality ,you may need to consider taking a break from work all together as it might be causing your eye muscles to go into spasm.
