I have been experiencing eye strain in my right eye since 2020. I have tried various treatments, including combined spherical and cylindrical corrections, prism adjustments, and vision therapy, but none provided relief. Recently, I started wearing only cylindrical correction glasses as prescribed by an optometrist on January 4, 2025. While this has significantly reduced the strain, I still feel mild discomfort. I prefer less screen-intensive work and follow a routine that includes breaks, proper lighting, and exercises. Please suggest further steps to fully alleviate this issue.my prescription is -2 in left and -2.5in right both cyl.

Hi
Correct prescription of glasses plays important role in reducing the eye strain. As you have already mentioned that after changing specs the strain is reduced, that means it was primarily due to incorrect sight correction. Now you can use tear substitutes for further improvement and Do near and far exercises to avoid further strain, means every 5 minutes of your near focus you have to look far for atleast 2-3 seconds. This will reduce amount of strain on your eyes while looking near. After your work just do apply ice or Kheera on your closed eyes to reduce work stress.
Next Steps
Confirm whether your glasses are of correct sight correction
