Folic Acid Intake
Hi, we are planning for a baby already since 3 months and i bought vitafol 5mg folic acid tab. Is this the correct tablet i shud consume and When should i take it? And what if i miss one? Thanks in advance.

If u r planning pregnancy.....folic acid is given to prevent neural tube defect.its ok to take 5mg.do continue.....

Hello.... Check the dose once.. Its taken in micrograms (mcg) not in milligrams(mg).... In first three months of pregnancy recommended folic acid is 400 mcg, from four to nine months it's 600mcg, during lactation 500mcg... Consult your gynaecologist before taking medicines...
