Folic acid is prescribed to women planning to conceive as it decreases the risk of certain brain and spinal cord defects in the baby. Folic acid is not given to increase the chance of getting pregnant. Also there is no evidence to state that routine folic acid supplementation in men improves the chances of conception
Folic acid in women does NOT increase the chance of conception, but it REDUCES the RISK of abnormal brain development of the baby.
You can take folic acid but it will NOT improve the chance of conception.
