Flutters and bubbling sensation
I am 22 weeks pregnant, I feel flutters and bubbling sensation on my vaginal wall, At first I thought my baby was kicking downwards but now I think something else is this because it happens without feeling internal kicks also. Can it be the progesterone injection IM weekly I am taking causing this sensation? Is it harmful? Can it create a problem with my cervical length also?

This is an unusual symptom . Please consult your Gynaecologist for a physical examination to find the cause for your symptoms. It is definitely not due to baby kicks or Inj Hydroxy progesterone.

Dear expectant Mom, Here are a few things that I hope will help you understand your condition better : 1. A woman's body is transformed into a nuturer's during her pregnancy to equip her for motherhood . This involves hormonal upheavals as well as drastic physical changes in the body  . 2. The vaginal tissue stretches and vaginal fluid production also often increases . While this is absolutely normal, it can often cause discomfort due to the vaginal collection and may be percieved as "bubbling and flutters". 3. The body also increases the amount of blood pumped to the reproductive organs and this increasing circulation comes to the vagina also which can lead to sensations of throbbing in the private parts. 4. The weight of a growing baby and the enlarging uterus often compresses surrounding nerves of the pelvic area which can lead to heightened sensations and nerves "Fad-fadana" ( fluttering )  as is said in colloquial terms. So, what you are experiencing seems to be a natural ( albeit strange ) part of your pregnancy journey . To address your other concerns ... i. Internal kicks are not properly discernable untill later in the pregnancy and definately not at the 22 week mark in which you are now . So, not feeling kicks now is absolutely normal. ii. Injectable Progesterones do not cause any symptoms like this , are prescribed when indicated to aid your pregnancy,do not cause harm and definately does not adversely affect your cervical length . I would highly suggest you to get physically checked out so any abnormal vaginal discharge can be evaluated and treated if necessary. Once you are reassured , do sit back and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy:).
Next Steps
In-patient consult for a quick physical exam & rule out abnormal vaginal discharge
Health Tips
Include moderate mobility in your daily routine for a robust circulation and to prevent any stagnation of fluid . Maintain personal hygiene of your private parts and do not use any soaps/scented products "down there ".
