Floss between gum & tooth keeping pressure on the tooth side... dont impinge deep in to gum.. flossing should b done in marginal gingiva that is loosely attached beside teeth ..in back & forth motion
Next Steps
if calculus deposited between teeth & gums that may cause loosening of attached gingiva... oral scaling will resolve it
Health Tips
floss should not impinge deeper into cgums so that blood comes out.. it will carry the infection into deeper tissues
Flossing maintains the oral hygiene.
Proper method- back& forth motion in between the teeth &above the gums in consultation with the doctor should be carried out when using for 1st time.
If you feel that your gums are loosen a little check it out with expert consultation (as calculus -calcified deposits of plaque may be there )
Yes flossing is safe if done correctly. Putting more pressure while flossing might hurt your gums. Periodontist can aseess your flossing technique and guide you well if you feel that ur gums are loosened.
