Dentures made of acrylic are hard, and have metal clasps  which rest on the adjoining teeth to hold the denture in place. A flexible denture is made of a different material which grips the gums better and does not require the metal clasps. Also since it is a little flexible it is more comfortable for the patient. Also it is less breakable . Flexible dentures do cost more than acrylic dentures.
