It should always be related to symptoms and position of fibroids. If you have pain in abdomen and heavy bleeding and fibroid indenting endometrium ; better to remove fibroids.  fibroid more than 5 cm should be removed surgically. But if you don't have symptoms or want to postpone surgery then consult ayurvedic gynecologist for detoxification Panchakarma treatment and ayurvedic medicines with modification in diet and lifestyle.
