I wish to know what is alkaline Phosphatase and its effects. The range is 35 to 104 and in my reports it came as 109 . This worries me a bit. Please advice.

Causes of raised alkaline phosphate are bone disease, liver diseases, certain drugs, hyperparathyroidism , vitamin D, deficiency, and few others. The test called GGT can differentiate whether the alkaline phosphate is arising from the liver or bone. In your case, as it is just borderline raised , few things in history can decide whether further investigations are warranted or not.
