Does the child have cough/cold? Or had taken outside food? This is mostly a stomach infection. In such cases you do not want the loose stools to stop, but allow them so that the stomach gets cleared of infection. But make sure the child has enough fluids and doesn't get dehydrated. For every loose stool, give 100-150ml of ORS and as the child drinks. Give Syp Zinc 20mg once a day for 14 days to support gut health. Give Syp rinifol Z, 5ml twice a day to improve stomach good bacteria so child heals faster. As infection improves, loose stools will slowly decrease and stop in 2-3 days. Till then make sure child is taking well orally, is passing adequate urine and is not lethargic. If any of these, then it means child is dehydrated and needs to be taken to a doctor.
