Feeling suffocated
In march 2015 i felt suffocated and was prescribed with gastritis tablet by gastroentrologist. and after the copmletion of that course i feel the same suffocated. i have done spirometry but didn't find nothing in Apollo hospital and was sent to psychiatry doctor. and i was prescribed antidepression tablet. i felt good for some days but after some months i feel the same and i went to AIMS bhubaneswar and again prescribed gastritis tablet by doctor. still i am on that antidepressant tablet and now i can't swallow food in morning time and feel choke in throat. and after some hours i feel hungry.

dear user, The condition you are describing could be anxiety with mild panic attack and as you described it can be very distressing. The medications (antidepressants) prescribed are correct and I hope you are continuing them; however since you are not feeling better you might need a higher dose, or addition of a temporary medication to tide over these episodes. Also since the problem has come back after taking medications, its advisable to visit a counselor and start some counselling/ therapy. This will help you get to the root of your problem and help deal with stress better. Hope you find this helpful.
