Feeding jaggery to baby
Is jaggery good for babies above 6months? Can we add little bit of it in babies food. I have recently started semi solid food to my baby like raagi porridge, rice porridge etc. Since she is exclusively on breastfeeding initially she didn't eat anything at all. Not even fruits puree. Raagi also she was not eating as I was giving her as it is without salt/sugar. I tried for 2-3 days but no luck. Then I asked few of my friends and added little jaggery. Then  She started eating little. But I m still concerned is jaggery good for baby health?

ideally speaking salt and sugar are to be avoided in babies under 1 year of age, but you can add jaggery maybe a little bit. if you could find a way to incorporate naturally sweet fruits like bananas or apple puree into her feeds that would be great. or instead you could try adding homemade dates puree for sweetening
