Hi. I have an irrational fear( or not so irrational) that something sharp will touch my eye and I may go blind. I, therefore, avoid any sharp-edged objects like pencils, toothpicks, etc like the plague and don't even get me started with knives. I remember my mom showing these news clippings of kids getting poked in the eye with a pencil when I was very young and I am pretty sure it started around that time. Now that I am 22, I still have this phobia. What should I do?

Hello
What you need to do is to consult a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist in person for detailed evaluation and treatment. Treatment is possible and both medicines and psychotherapy are available as treatment options. You will be fine.
