Far eyesight weak. Machine number!

Hello my wife and my eyesight of far is weak and I check up regularly and last time I got eye check up with an ophthalmologist than he give me eyesight number check with refraction machine and not check my number after that with put glasses in eyes,he check my eyes with Machine and give me number 2 my wife eyesight is also weak for far and she not check from long time and here she said please check up of my eyes,so same doctor check her eyes with refraction machine and with also by put glasses on eyes and said to read her from screen and she said I am not able to read on smartphone after wearing eyeglasses and also said to doctor for check her near eyesight,so doctor deny and said near eyesight is weak when u around 40 but her age is 25 So I want to know refraction number for me with Machine or I have to get eye check up again or I have to made eyeglasses with refraction machine number
